Savor the Bangladeshi Red Spinach Curry with Shrimp – a healthy, traditional seafood curry packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and protein. Bursting with flavor and vibrant color, this Laal Shak Curry is perfect with rice or flatbreads.

Ingredients

  • Cooking oil – 2 tablespoons
    Shrimp – 7 to 8 pieces
Onion – chopped, quantity as needed (you mentioned “chopped onion” without an exact amount)
Garlic – 2 cloves, chopped (or “two double a spoon” as you wrote, assuming ~2 cloves)
Green chili – 5 cloves, sliced (you wrote 4 to 5 pieces, which seems like a typo; likely 4–5 pieces)
    Tomato – 1/2 (sliced)
    Salt – to taste
    Red spinach – 300 gm
    Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon
    Water – as needed

Directions

  • Soak all the red spinach in water for 20 minutes. After soaking, drain the water and rinse the spinach thoroughly.
Take 6–7 shrimp and clean them properly.
Chop all the other ingredients: onion, garlic, green chili, and tomato, and keep them aside.
Heat a pan for cooking and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Add the chopped onion, garlic, green chili, tomato, and shrimp to the pan. Sprinkle a small amount of salt and fry until you get a nice aroma, about 3 minutes.
Add the red spinach to the pan. Sprinkle turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon) and red chili powder (1/2 teaspoon). Stir well to mix everything evenly.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat. After 15 minutes, add a small amount of water and adjust salt to taste. Cover again and cook until the spinach and shrimp are tender and fully cooked.
Your Red Spinach Curry with Shrimp is now ready to serve. Enjoy it hot with rice or flatbreads.
